State licensing directory
Fire protection licensing by state
All 50 states and the District of Columbia. Each page lists the official state agency and, where we have confirmed them on official sources, license types, fees and renewal dates.
How to read this directory: pages marked ✓ have the licensing agency and license types for sprinkler, fire alarm, extinguisher and kitchen suppression work confirmed on official state sources; pages marked "partly verified" have some of these confirmed and the rest marked "details being verified". Some states (for example New York and Pennsylvania) license this work locally, by city or town. All other pages list only the official agency link and are marked "details being verified". We never estimate fees or dates. Local fire marshals may add their own rules.
